A privacy coin does not mean everything is hidden from everyone forever. Zama is built on the same technology as Monero, which includes view keys — a way to prove specific transactions to specific people, without making everything public to the world. That one feature is the bridge between privacy and accountability.
A person sending money keeps full privacy. No one can see the amount, the sender, or the receiver.
A business stays private from competitors, but can hand a view key to the tax authority. Auditable to who needs it, private from everyone else.
A public fund can publish its view key so that anyone can verify it. Voluntary, full transparency — by choice.
Same coin. The difference is simply who holds the key — not a different network.
Built in layers, not one ledger
Voting, identity, land titles and money do not all sit on one network with the same privacy setting. Each layer is built for its job:
Layer 1 — ZAM
Private peer-to-peer money. The neutral settlement rail. Privacy by default.
Layer 2 — Identity and disclosure
ZamaID and view keys. Prove who you are, or reveal what you choose, to whom you choose. The opt-in transparency layer.

How the government solutions fit
ZamaVote — a secret ballot with a public, verifiable tally. Privacy technology is exactly what secure voting needs: your vote stays private, the count stays provable.
ZamaRevenue — a taxpayer shares a view key with the revenue authority only. Compliant where it must be, private from everyone else.
ZamaTitle — a public land registry, where transparency is the whole point. It runs as its own open registry, not on the private money network.
ZamaID — a credential you present to prove who you are when you choose to. It is not a coin balance.
Zama is a technology stack and a brand — not one single network that is either all private or all public.
